NYC Department of Education: Remote Learning
In March of 2020, a nationwide shutdown was ordered due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many businesses and organizations including schools were uprooted by this and had to think fast to continue serving the public. The New York City Department of Education was fast-acting and reached out to IBM at the very beginning of this global pandemic.
The request was to partner with the NYC Department of Education in the distribution of over 300K iPads with information, directions, and support that guaranteed each student would have immediate access to the education they deserve. Our goal was to quickly adapt and fit the human and tech needs for NYC students of all ages.

Setting Students up for Success
Along with the iPads, the NYC Department of Education distributed learning care packages including school supplies, swag, and iPad setup guidebooks to prepare their students for this new way of learning. In addition to designing the student care package, I also contributed to the designing of a Technical Support portal for NYC students and parents.
Through the Technical Support portal, users could activate their new iPads, troubleshoot any setup issues, access virtual learning support, and also served as a location where school updates could be found quickly during a time where information was constantly changing.
Due to my contribution to this project, I was a recipient of the IBM Innovation & Delivery Excellence Award (IDEA). I was recognized for "Outstanding Service Delivery" in the category of "US Public Market Winner" for the project with "Most Impact on Society and on the World".
